Having worked in design in various cities across the US including New York and San Francisco, Leah landed in Los Angeles a few years ago and is so enthralled with the design community there that she has no intention of leaving. She works at Reath Design as an interior designer and in her free time can be found creating art, sculptures and jewelry in her Atwater Village studio. Leah loves organizing field trips to visit Los Angeles' architectural gems just about as much as she loves breakfast burritos.
As the holiday season is in full effect and we all prepare for the end of the year, it's important to take some time to reflect on the things that bring us joy in life. This month's roundup includes some beautiful fine art exhibitions, a few great options for holiday gift buying, and the work of two design firms in Los Angeles creating really innovative and fun spaces.
Starting with producing a handful of block printed scarf designs in 2010, Block Shop has grown into a hugely popular design studio producing wearables and home goods featuring their signature geometric designs, as well as offering workshops for those wanting to learn the block printing process first hand. Read below to learn more about the formation and evolution of Block Shop from my chat with co-founder Hopie Stockman.

This month's roundup features a few ongoing art events and exhibitions, as well as some extremely talented artists who are helping to make the LA art and design scene one of the most vibrant in the nation.
I connected with Carly and was lucky enough to pay a visit to her studio and learn a bit more about her process. A truly inspirational creative force, it was exciting to hear about about Carly's vision and her evolution as an artist.
For this month's Los Angeles round-up, the selections range from art exhibitions which aim to challenge our thinking culturally and politically, to more whimsical photography and a playful product line of lamps that look like they might come to life!
To jumpstart your creative juices for 2017, the January round-up features designers and artists that run the spectrum from soft and fuzzy fiber art to the graphic lines of Brutalist architecture and a fashion designer's sculptural furniture. A dreamy photography series featuring floating installations of everyday objects and ethereal, pastel paintings will hopefully help get your creative daydreams flowing freely into the new year!
For November's roundup we highlight events and artists that are making waves in Los Angeles, as well as welcome some incredible design talent from New York and abroad with open arms to the City of Angels. From a site-specific installation in a mall to ashen and tarred ceramics to the trendiest socks (yes, socks!) this month's selection is full of visual delights.
