say hi to_ Galerie Ultra Moderne Exhibition | Event
We launched our collaborative illustration series, Design Studies, where we invite an illustrator to translate inspiration from an iconic designer or architect into a series of four illustrations, two months ago. A fun way for us to collaborate with some of our favourite up and coming artists, quickly became one of our website's most popular content.
Lucillia Chenel, co-owner of Galerie Ultra Moderne, a vintage 1970's-1990's design furniture gallery in Paris, contacted me when she saw Felicity Marshall's Memphis Design series. As we will be launching an eCommerce platform next month with limited edition prints and products, as well as a curated selection of some of our favourite design furniture pieces - we thought the super inspiring Galerie Ultra Moderne was the perfect place to collaborate with on an exhibition.
We chose Garance Vallée who took inspiration from Le Corbusier's iconic architecture and Felicity Marshall who drew her inspiration from Ettore Sottsass' Memphis Movement furniture and printed a limited edition series of forty prints per illustration, in two sizes. It was so nice to see old friends (some who came from abroad!), new friends and so many of you who follow us online. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us for our first ever say hi to_ Event!
The prints will remain on sale at Galerie Ultra Moderne in Paris for the next month, including a special edition 'Ultra Moderne' print created exclusively by Garance Vallée for this event. You can inquire about ordering the prints internationally by e-mailing email@example.com.
