say hi to_ Los Angeles

As the holiday season is in full effect and we all prepare for the end of the year, it's important to take some time to reflect on the things that bring us joy in life. This month's roundup includes some beautiful fine art exhibitions, a few great options for holiday gift buying, and the work of two design firms in Los Angeles creating really innovative and fun spaces.

Nevine Mahmoud

Running through January 6th at M+B Gallery, Foreplay is the debut solo exhibition of Los Angeles artist Nevine Mahmoud through which the artist positions a range of sculptures, erotic in nature, in a provocative and theatrical fashion, challenging the viewer to consider their notions of eroticism and the body.

Miriam Schapiro

The paintings of the groundbreaking feminist artist Miriam Schapiro are currently on view at Honor Fraser Gallery, featuring works created between 1967 and 1971, on view on the west coast for the first time since their creation. The exhibition, which is up through December 16th, demonstrates Schapiro's use of collage and digital imaging, as well as her experimentation with color, space and geometry.

The Archers

I recently came across an interiors project by multidisciplinary design firm The Archers and, upon pouring through their entire portfolio of work, was so impressed by and enamored with their daring and artful approach to designing a physical space. The firm was founded in 2002 and their portfolio includes an impressive array of architecture and interiors project, both private and public.
